50 km cycling (L)
In the morning, we’ll transfer out of Hanoi to Hoa Lu (2.5 hours). There, we’ll visit the historic capital of Vietnam and the famous ancient temples of the Le and Dinh Dynasties. Afterward, we’ll cycle along picturesque, quiet roads through villages, rice fields, rivers, and rocky outcrops to Tam Coc for lunch.
After lunch, we’ll continue cycling along country roads until we reach Sunny Wharf, a small dock. There, we’ll board a sampan boat for a journey into the heart of “Inland Ha Long Bay.”
The short boat ride will take us along the Ngo Dong River through a scenic landscape of rice fields and karst towers. The route includes floating through three natural caves — Hang Ca, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba — the largest of which is 125 meters long with a ceiling about 2 meters high above the water. We’ll stop for a short rest near a small shrine before returning to the dock. Finally, we’ll cycle back to Tam Coc village and board the bus back to Hanoi.
