Day 1: Hue 25+ km (B, L, D)
We’ll spend most of the first day sightseeing in Hue. Hue was the seat of the thirteen Nguyen Emperors from 1802 to 1945. It is one of Vietnam's cultural, religious, and educational centers and was recently designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll cycle around this wonderful ancient city and visit some of its famous landmarks.
Day 2: Hue – Hoi An 80+ km (B, L, D)
On the second day, we’ll drive 18 km out of Hue to the coast. From there, we’ll begin riding off the beaten track for 40 km along a picturesque, narrow peninsular road from Thuan An Beach to Vinh Loc. We’ll hop on a local ferry to cross an estuary of the Perfume River before re-mounting our bikes on Highway 1. Here, we’ll cycle the first of the day’s three hill climbs. In the evening, we’ll check into the hotel in Hoi An, enjoy dinner, and settle down for the night.
Day 3: Hoi An 25+ km (B, L)
After a leisurely breakfast in this old trading port, we’ll take to the bikes for a ride around the city and into the villages of the surrounding countryside. We’ll briefly cycle to the quaint village of Thuan Tinh, set among rice fields and coconut groves. We’ll also stop to check out a strawberry garden and meet local villagers. The rest of the afternoon is yours to relax at the beach.
Day 4: Hoi An – Quang Ngai – Quy Nhon 50+ km (B, L)
We’ll depart from Hoi An early in the morning and transfer to Quang Ngai. There, we’ll unload the bikes for a leisurely ride to Quy Nhon, the capital city of Binh Dinh Province. During the Vietnam War, Quy Nhon was a US-held port, supply center, and refuge for thousands fleeing heavy bombing in the countryside. We’ll stay overnight in this city.
Day 5: Quy Nhon – Nha Trang 70+ km (B, L)
The fifth day’s ride follows a unique road along the Reunification Express Railway. We’ll transfer out of town to avoid the main highway and begin riding along a remote but well-maintained road running alongside the tracks. Along the way, we’ll stop at Dai Lanh Beach for refreshments and a dip in the sea before continuing to Nha Trang for our overnight stay.
Day 6: Nha Trang 20+ km (B, L)
Following breakfast, we’ll drive to Nha Trang Pier for an authentic seacoast experience. We’ll take a morning boat trip — first to the wondrous aquarium and then to Hon Mun Island. You’ll also have the option to visit Dam Market. We’ll stay overnight in Nha Trang.
Day 7: Nha Trang – Da Lat 90+ km (B, L)
We’ll depart early and drive a short leg south to Cam Ranh (two hours). From here, we’ll cycle on a remote mountain road into the central highlands toward Da Lat. Hundreds of original European-style villas and chalets stand as a reminder of the town’s colonial past. We’ll stay overnight in Da Lat.
Day 8: Da Lat – Ho Chi Minh City (B, L)
After breakfast, we’ll say goodbye to Da Lat and transfer to Ho Chi Minh City (7 hours). Residents still call this city Saigon. It is the heart of Vietnam — commercially, spiritually, and culturally the soul of the country.
