Highlight:

  • Discover the Vibrant Mekong Delta – Explore the 'Nine Dragon River Delta,' a 39,000 km² region rich in rice fields, seafood exports, and diverse ethnic communities.

  • A Biological Treasure Trove – Home to over 1,000 newly discovered species, the Mekong Delta supports rich biodiversity and remains a vital economic and cultural hub of Vietnam.

  • Day 1: Ho Chi Minh – Tra Vinh (50km+) (L)
After breakfast, we’ll transfer a couple of hours out of Ho Chi Minh City to My Tho, the gateway to the Mekong Delta. Today’s ride will take you deep into the heart of the rural Mekong. The cycling begins after a ferry ride across the Tien River at My Tho. The route will lead you along narrow roads and lanes, passing banana plantations, sugar cane fields, and the lush green landscapes of the delta.

A section of the ride cuts off-road onto gravel and dirt lanes, weaving through hamlets, across water channels, and through dense vegetation—making for a superb biking experience. We’ll take a ferry ride across the wide Co Chien River to Tra Vinh, a charming tree-lined town with a large Khmer community. We’ll stay overnight at a hotel in Tra Vinh.

    Day 2: Tra Vinh – Can Tho (85km+) (B, L)
After breakfast, we’ll board a boat to Vinh Long, one of the Mekong’s most famous fruit-producing towns. From there, we’ll cycle along narrow country lanes and easy dirt tracks, passing through tiny orchards and picturesque delta homes.

You’ll witness colorful local life along the riverside, including vibrant morning markets and traditional houses. The cycling distance today is moderate, allowing time to explore side tracks and trails. We’ll stay overnight at a local hotel in Can Tho.

    Day 3: Can Tho – Ha Tien (80km+) (B, L)
We’ll start early with a boat trip to the famous Cai Rang floating market, where locals trade fruits, vegetables, and goods from their boats. Afterward, we’ll cycle along a narrow paved road through the bustling Phong Dien market, where you’ll see small cottage industries, timber merchants, coconut shredders, and rice loading docks.

After a morning of cycling, we’ll transfer back to Can Tho for lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll continue riding along a quiet road toward Long Xuyen, passing scenic rural landscapes. A final ferry crossing and a short transfer will bring us to Ha Tien for an overnight stay.

    Day 4: Ha Tien – Chau Doc (75km+) (B, L)
After breakfast, we’ll transfer to Triton and begin cycling toward Chau Doc. The road is hilly but offers unique views of the Thot Not trees, which signal proximity to Cambodia. Most locals here speak Vietnamese as a second language, giving you a glimpse into the area’s cultural blend.

We’ll stop at Ba Chuc, known as the "killing fields of Vietnam," where over 3,000 Vietnamese were massacred by the Khmer Rouge in 1978. Afterward, we’ll continue cycling for a mid-afternoon arrival in Chau Doc. If you have energy left, you can climb Sam Mountain for a breathtaking sunset view. Dinner and an overnight stay await in Chau Doc.

Day 5: Chau Doc – Ho Chi Minh City (B, L)
After breakfast, we’ll board a boat to visit the floating houses of the upper Mekong River, where locals farm catfish and red snapper beneath their homes. Next, we’ll visit a Cham village of about 12,000 people, where locals weave sarongs and hats by hand using traditional techniques.

In the afternoon, we’ll return to the bus for a drive back to Ho Chi Minh City, where the trip concludes.
