Highlight:

  • Experience Local Culture and Warm Smiles – Join a four-day tour from Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho, immersing yourself in the local way of life.

  • Discover Khmer Heritage – Visit some of the region’s 140+ Khmer pagodas, where boys aged 15 to 20 traditionally serve as monks.

  • Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Cai Be – Vinh Long (25km+) (L)
We’ll meet at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City for a quick transfer to Cai Lay. From there, we’ll take back roads to Cai Be, where we’ll board a boat to Can Tho Island.

On the island, we’ll visit local artisans and watch how coconut candy, rice paper, and popped rice are made. Afterward, we’ll enjoy a traditional lunch on the island before heading to our homestay, hosted by a lovely retired couple, Mr. and Mrs. Bay.

The Bay family’s home is a typical Mekong Delta-style house, with airy rooms and an outdoor kitchen. The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore the area by bike at your own pace.

    Day 2: Vinh Long – Tra Vinh (60km+) (B, L)
After breakfast with the Bays, we’ll take a short boat ride to Vinh Long, one of the Mekong’s famous fruit towns. From there, we’ll bike along narrow country lanes, passing through tiny orchards and vibrant riverside villages.

We’ll cross narrow canals on a local sampan and then board a ferry for a scenic trip across the wide Co Chien River. After the ferry ride, we’ll continue cycling to the picturesque Khmer town of Tra Vinh. The cycling distance today is moderate, allowing time to explore side trails and immerse yourself in the local atmosphere. We’ll stay overnight at a local hotel in Tra Vinh.

    Day 3: Tra Vinh – Can Tho (80km+) (B, L)
Today’s ride is special, as much of the area is home to Khmer communities. The regional architecture reflects this influence, with beautiful Khmer temples along the route.

You’ll have the freedom to cycle as much or as little as you prefer, as the road is peaceful, narrow, and scenic. We’ll visit Ba Om Pond, famous for its lotus flowers, and stop at a nearby temple where local women have their futures predicted. We’ll also visit a Buddhist temple school to observe local traditions.

We’ll arrive in Can Tho by late afternoon and stay overnight at a local hotel.

    Day 4: Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh City (30km+) (B, L)
In the morning, we’ll cycle to Phong Dien, where we’ll board a boat to visit the Cai Rang floating market—the largest and most vibrant in the Mekong Delta. We’ll weave through the bustling boats and markets, watching locals trade fruits, vegetables, and other goods directly from their boats.

After the market visit, we’ll continue cycling along narrow lanes, passing timber merchants, coconut shredders, and small rice-loading docks. We’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant before heading back to Ho Chi Minh City, where the trip concludes.
