Highlight:

  • Trace ancient civilizations – Discover early settlements dating back to 2100 BCE, including Ban Chiang and the Indianized-Khmer culture of Funan in the 1st century.

  • Explore historical crossroads – Learn how the Mekong River shaped the rise and fall of the Khmer Empire and became a strategic frontline between Siam and Tonkin.

  • Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Vinh Long (30km+) (L)
In the morning, we’ll drive from Ho Chi Minh City to Cai Lay, where we’ll begin cycling toward Cai Be.

In Cai Be, we’ll take a scenic boat trip along the mighty tributaries of the Mekong River, witnessing the daily lives of those who live and work along the waterways. We’ll visit the unique floating market at Cai Be and stop at a family-run business to see how rice paper—a key ingredient in Vietnamese cuisine—is made.

Lunch will be held on an island mid-river at a local house surrounded by fruit orchards and bonsai trees. Afterward, we’ll enjoy a performance of traditional Vietnamese music before continuing our ride to An Binh Island. Along the way, we’ll pass peaceful scenes of farmers seeding, plowing, and harvesting their fields.

We’ll arrive in Vinh Long by late afternoon and stay overnight at a local hotel.

    Day 2: Vinh Long – Can Tho (50km+) (B, L)
After breakfast, we’ll visit local craft industries and watch residents make tofu, floor tiles, and bricks using traditional methods.

From there, we’ll ride to Can Tho, cycling through the heart of the Mekong Delta’s vibrant countryside. We’ll stop at a local fruit market to sample fresh produce and experience the lively atmosphere.

We’ll arrive in Can Tho in the afternoon and stay overnight at a local hotel.

    Day 3: Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh City (30km+) (B, L)
In the morning, we’ll take a boat ride from Ninh Kieu dock to visit the bustling Cai Rang floating market—the largest and most colorful market in the Mekong Delta. We’ll weave through the boats as locals trade fruits, vegetables, and other goods directly from their vessels.

After the market visit, we’ll continue cycling along small tracks, stopping at a local fruit orchard to taste the fresh flavors of the Mekong. Lunch will be held en route to Ho Chi Minh City, where the trip concludes.
